Dream Shadows - Example gameplay

The following is a very short example of gameplay. The bits beginning with the ">" symbol are what the player has typed and the other text is the response from the game.

>look around

[Farm House]
You are inside a farm house.
To the East you see a back doorway that leads to a barn.
To the West you see a doorway that goes outside.
There is a biscuit here.

>take biscuit

You take the biscuit.

>inventory

You are carrying the following:
- a biscuit

>go west

[Road]

>go west

[Potato Field]
You see a dog and a farmer here.

>give biscuit to farmer

He says "Why don't you try giving it to the dog?"

>listen farmer

He says "Potatoes and corn are some of my favourite things."

>listen farmer

He says "Where has that dog run off to again?"

>score

0 out of 5.

Now here is the same gameplay but using a few shorter, but still valid, commands.

>l

[Farm House]
You are inside a farm house.
To the East you see a back doorway that leads to a barn.
To the West you see a doorway that goes outside.
There is a biscuit here.

>take biscuit

You take the biscuit.

>i

You are carrying the following:
- a biscuit

>w

[Road]

>w

[Potato Field]
You see a dog and a farmer here.

>give biscuit farmer

He says "Why don't you try giving it to the dog?"

>listen farmer

He says "Potatoes and corn are some of my favourite things."

>a

He says "Where has that dog run off to again?"

>score

0 out of 5.

Notice that look, inventory, north, south, east, west, up and down can all be shortened to just their first letter.

If you ever find yourself wanting to type the same command many times, like "listen farmer", you can just type "a" to repeat your last command.
